Ordering 04 Coupes 06/07/03
Working for an Upstate New York dealership allows me the priveledge of some inside information about ordering g35 sedans and coupes. We are ordering the 04's today, as most of us enthusiasts already knew this would be happening soon. There is NO pricing info yet, although the rumor of the production levels going down and the price going UP will probably stand firm. I guess we will all have to wait and see. The only color change is we can now get a twilight blue exterior color which I was just informed we did order with a willow interior. We also have ordered a 04 Black on Black 6MT, this will probably sell fast. These two cars wont arrive here at the dealership until late Sept or early Oct. No other changes to the car that I am aware of. Somewhere else on here you will find a list of available 03 Coupes that our dealership has. Have a great day and GodSpeed.

My order for an 04' went into the system on Thursday and is verified by the factory. They started taking 04' orders on Wednesday the 5th. The 5th is when dealers start doing their submissions for the next month. Just like you said, there is still no pricing or option change information released yet.
On another thread someone said their are no changes. The factory is accepting orders based on the 03' information. This only sets the place in line, not the final build. When they release the 04' ordering information, you can make order adjustments to an order in-line. If there is something on an order which has no availability, like an exterior color, the factory will automatically hold the order to get a correction. I have been told that final pricing may not even be determined until after the first cars are built and in transportation.

i thought i ordered an 03, but called dealership today and found out it will be an 04. was told i locked in my price and they won't increase it.
hoping it has the telescoping wheel.

I went and placed my order for 04' 6MT (loaded) today. However, the dealer told me that I missed the June order by one day. So, mine will be sent to manufacture as of July orders. My car won't be available till Oct. or Nov. The good side of though, is that by then I hope I'll be getting the new tranny that Nissan is supposed to offer for the Zs and the Gs.
The service guy told me by changing the intake and exhust system, I can get another 20hp to the wheels (at least) and they would do it at the dealership.
I test drove one 6MT today, and I love the sound of it.

the dealerships (at least on the east coast) placed their June orders on either Tuesday or Wednesday 6/3 or 4.
then it's an approximate 12 wk wait (conservative).
i placed my order thinking it was an 03. foung out it's an 04. got order number yesterday, so it can be tracked.

I ordered an '04 but haven't gotten a price lock based on '03 pricing from the dealer. Is this something that I should expect, assuming they don't include new features?

The prices are not out...how could a dealer lock you in on a 2003 price for a 2004 model when he does not even know what they will be going for? I think the dealer is playing games! That is what he is telling you now, when the 2004 comes in with a $1500 to $2000 price increase you will then have the option of taking it or walking away. Either way it is a win win for him, if you don't take it, someone else will. By stretching the truth, he is able to get another G Coupe into production!

You get them to stick to a price lock by getting things in writing. What exactly you get in writing is another matter...
When I ordered my '00 firebird formula I did it in the summer of '99 before the internet dealer had '00 pricing. Granted the car only increased $150 with no model changes but he still stuck to the price he originally gave me.

DoGh!!! Dealer called...I missed the June alocation...will have to be in the July one and take delivery oct or nov. Dealer didn't want to talk about locking in a price since he is hoping to have pricing info before placing the order in July...
