05 G35 Coupe 298hp 6mt help
#17
This is great. Real data to compare.
Is there any real comparison on this board of mods? I looked around and found a lot of conflicting information. The INJEN intake looked good and then some people said they had fiberglass particles or something like that coming through the exhaust. Some people did mods that hurt their times. I heard the 05 gain in power was due to exhaust tuning. Is that true? I heard the midpipe alone would help a lot. So far I've heard a lot of things but would really like to know what mods to what and what the pros and cons are of each mod. Eg., I heard the Ztube and other cold air induction systems can e moisture problems from the rain. What's up with that? Can anyone clear these things up for me?
Basically what I would really like to know is...What mod's really work and have been verified and what would be the best emissions legal way to get the G coupe into the very low 13's?
Thanks a lot guys.

There are many CAI out there and the only real thing that changes this from that is make sure if you are using a CAI get one with the bypass valve. I have the Nismo and I drive in pouring rain heavy traffic and don't have any problems. But, just like everyone else says....don't go puddle jumping with your G if you have a CAI. It will take a deep puddle to do anything to the engine as in over 6 inches. As for times, I personally ran a 14.0 at 101.1x with just my intake. Everyone has an opinion on wether or not 05's are faster or not. I haven't lost to any 03-04 G or Z with the same parts as I. But like I said everyone has an opinion.
