05 G35 Coupe 298hp 6mt help

Greetings,

I've been trying to find 1/4 mile specs on the 2005 G35 298 HP 6mt and I can't find them in any magazine! Can you guys tell me what you've done at the track stock and with mods PLEASE.

I would also like to hear some stories of other stock cars you've raced and how you did?

Does anyone have videos of the G35 coupe in action.

Recently I found a great site that has a video of a G35 coupe racing a slightly modified Honda S2000 on the street with the camera in the G35.

Here is the address:
http://www.racingflix.com/getvideo.asp?v=1109&p=5

That website has some amazing car videos of all types. There's even a new
Porsche Carrera GT smoking a twin turbo Mustang.
http://www.racingflix.com/downloadvideo.asp?v=1134

I hope you enjoy the flix.

Let me know what you think.

I ran a 14.4 @97mph stock in orlando, there was a guy that ran 14.0 stock in a 05 up north and he frequents this board.

Thanks for your post. Did you try running the car with the traction control on and off? I'm just curious.

Thanks

if you run with VDC on, you will run a horrible time.

i have seen some Zs running high 13s.. some even near low 13 with very minimal mods..its pretty amazing.

what is the best a 6 mt G35 coup can do anyways? with a few NA mods..is it possible to get it to go low 13? (i no, most of the time, its really the driver..haha). most people in a Z can only do 14s anyways...those who do 13 stock is VERY good!

my guess is that with the avg driver and car, the 05 6MT (in really good conditions) is capable of 14.00@101

whereas I'd put the 04 6MT at 14.2@99 in the same scenario.

for the millionth time....in no way is the 05 6mt faster than the 04 6mt.....I prove it to every one I come across.... yes I have an injen intake but according to the masses that is not supposed to mean anything....but fact is I consistantly pull away from 05 6mts from 0-120.....there is no high end take over....the distance just continues to grow....maybe I will be at englishtown on the 25th...to prove it.....trust me, by the 1/8 mile the race will already be determined.

^ it was me and 98intrigue that went to the track. Him 04 stock, me 05 stock. We raced many times and are times were almost identical, sometimes him winning sometimes me. An average 05 6mt driver willl NOT run 14.0 @101, somewhere in the low 14's is more realistic.

Thanks for the comparison ChazM. Da45king I would like to see this as well. I have no racing experience , otherwise I would be your test subject. I would have gotten a 04 if there were anymore ip/graphite 6sp nav around in oct04.

Yup, it was ChazM and the other guy.
ChazM - I wonder, having 19's on the 05, in theory, makes it slower right? If you go down to 18's on the 05, do you think you can get better times.

not really, they have been weighed and I believe they are a little lighter than the stock 18's pre 05 and since the tires have a smaller profile the overall wheel diameter is the same.
