You really cant expect much from the z-tube because its just like our g-tube with minor differneces. The z-tube is still considered the best bang for your buck, it still gives you a stock look with a few extra ponies.

its the Pop Charger, that really makes the sound, swap the K&N with a pop charger then you will notice the differance

I agree the pop charge is what really gives it it's sound. Once I hit 4k it's soooo loud. I love it.

You can't tell the difference till 5k and continue to 7k. I was hearing over and over again how much more throaty the engine is at 3.5k. There is no change in power (from Butt dyno), and the volume I get up top is cool and all, but who drives in that register at all times?

Perhaps the change in my head was much bigger than what was discussed on the boards. Perhaps the z-tube on the 05's don't make that much difference. Who knows.

My suggestion on the Z-Tube and K&N replacement is to save the $100-120, as the small change in sound isn't worth it.

Unfortunately, the Exhaust change is MUCH more pricey. Perhaps later.

i could not agree more, installed last night, took it out for a drive and was really dissapointed, i mean its cool and all to say i now have 287hp, and i did notice some volume difference after like 4-5k but like you mentioned, who drives liek that... oh well

I installed a Z Tube on my '05 6MT coupe, last night. My G has about 1k miles on it. To be honest, I really can't tell if there is a noticeable difference . . . . yet.

I thought I'd give it a shot, in an attempt to lower the tone.

Nonetheless, I still love driving the car.

The popcharger is just an air filter, its $50. the Ztube/Popcharger on everythingg35.com is $195.

Even if the z tube added 5rwhp..which it probably doesn't, you would NOT feel that power. I've said this many times, if your car ran a 14.45 @98mph and you added a Z tube and ran a 14.40 @98.5mph do you actually think you will feel that difference? Think if you had a ghost run, like on some car video games and your car finishes a half a car in front of the stock car, get the picture?
