My beater car (94 Mits Galant) has a sunroof and never had a problem with it. I've owned it for 10 years and never "conditioned the rubber" or have done any maint. on it. Do you park under dirty trees or simiilar dirty stuff? There is supposed to be a draining canal from the sunroof which can get covered. Uppon that getting covered, the watter starts draining in. My father had to put silicone sealant on the roof around his car.
