Well, I have been a Victim of the "rocking" driver’s seat three times. This time Infiniti has seen it fit to replace my entire seat, rather than the patchwork base fix. After writing a fairly lengthy letter to Infiniti explaining the potential dangers (liability and otherwise) created by a “rocking” seat in situations calling for emergency maneuvering, they have given the “green light” to my dealer to replace the entire contraption. No more seat-base exchanges for me. I’m excited because my seat cushion foam has worn from the getting in and out of the car. I guess being 6’1 and 212 may be a bit more than this car can handle OR my car is cursed!

I had asked for a modification, in dealer terms that means a 2005 seat, but had no luck.

 

BTW, this post was to inform others of you who may suffer from this "rocking" chair problem, that you may be able to get a new seat.

Had the butt cushion done in mine once so far. But that was because all the stitching came apart. Haven't had the seat rock just yet *fingers crossed*
