debadging after a year?

i have IP Coupe for a year and half now, thinking of taking out the INFINITI name at the back. i think this will leave shadow images due to uneven fade. can this be taken out by waxing or any other stuff? if you've done it, what color is your G? i think it would be more noticeable on lighter color cars like IP.

I did it on 04 BO coupe after 6 months or so. If you looked reallly closely you could notice, but it wasnt bad at all, and I was replacing it with the "Skyline" logo anyway. I waxed over where the Infiniti letters were and it made no difference. You had to be looking very hard at around 1 foot distance. I couldnt find anything that would remove the shadow. Good luck.

Did my IP coupe at 22K miles and about 16 months old and you would never know it. I am really glad I did it, had the same reservations as you. I would think that IP would be one of the last colors to fade as it is a light color and the paint does not get as hot as the darker colors. Do it, I bet you will be good to go as well. Here are a few pics I JUST took to put you at ease:

try using a good eraser (yes the stuff you use on pencils - graphic design ones) afterwards to get rid of that sticky stuff... no dmg on my car and I just waxed over where I erased and it's perfect

I took off the G35 after a year on a Laser Red coupe. You can't see it unless you get in just the right angle. That area is a little smoother than the rest. A little polishing compound would clear it. I've just been too lazy to do it.

I have an 03 that was manufactured in Dec. 2002. One of the early ones I guess... I am the second owner of the car and just debadged it last week. 2.5 years old and you can barely tell, only if there is lots of light and you catch it at just the right angle. It is Diamond Graphite in color. Go for it.

I've been wondering about this too, so this is good information. I have a two year old DG coupe but it's rarely out in the sun, so there shouldn't be much fading. I might have to debadge this weekend.
