I had this happen (started out as a one time thing then progressed to being a fight everytime I started the car first thing in the morning), the dealer ended up taking a week to figure out that it was some antenna that recieves the signal from the chip in the key that was defective.....got it done under warranty and made em throw in soime free aluminum pedals as compensation for keeping my month old car for a week.

1 week after getting my car I had this happen. Got into the car and tried to start it, nothing. Played with the e-brake, clutch, and shifter. Finally started after 20 minutes of f -in around with a tow truck on the way from roadside assistance. Went to the next bar and it happened again, but only took five minutes to get it going. To it to infiniti the next day to get it worked out. Turns out that they had not programed the valet key that was on my keyring correctly and if I was using it or it was even hanging from the key chain just right the car would not start. Go to the dealer and have them reprogram all of the keys to the car at one time. I haven't had an issue since. Just make sure you give them all of your keys.

Interesting replies. Sounds like it happens once in while to a select few.

Isn't there an admonition in the Owners Manual about possible Cell Phone interference?

If he had not, that would have prevented the starter motor from turning the engine over.
