If you don't wanna put milage on the car, put it on a flatbed and be done with it....................not exactly rocket science!

geezzz....you all sound like a bunch of little bitches. You don't even know what he's wanting to do. For all you know he's wanting to tow it behind a U-haul on a car dolly, and just wants to make sure it doesnt rake up miles.

and for those of you that think that it is noticable that the mileage has been tampered with....you don't know what you're talking about. now days this can all be done with a computer. It's easier now than ever.

But...I would think if you are going to tow the car, you could disconnect the battery and not worry about mileage. or if it's going on a car dolly you could remove the driveshaft.

If you are wanting to roll back mileage....google would be a good start.

First of all, turn off the caps.

I understand why you want to do disconnect the odometer even if you yourself have not stated so. You are not the first to ask the question.

Even if you are towing the car and the engine is not turning, you are still putting miles on the car. You want to under-report the mileage which is OK if you keep the car until it dies, however if you resell the car then this is an entirely different situation.

Lastly if you have to ask why would anyone disconnect an odometer, then you are extremely naive or worse. It's the "or worse" part that everyone is giving you crap about.

Why does cautioning someone about breaking the law make them sound like "little bitches"?

because warning someone about the obvious makes you look like little bitches.

reminds me of a little kid sitting in the back seat while you drive pointing out very mistake. "you didn't signal, you are going 3mph over the speed limit, you should have your lights on." Wah!

It's probably B.S., but my dealer told me if you disconnect the odometer on the newer cars it won't shift out of first gear on the auto.......
Don't know what would happen to a 6MT.....I still think its BS, but you never know now a days with all the electronics and ECU's

Note to self - don't buy any used cars from Patrickwong or jeepman. Hey, Patrick (if that's your real name), hope you're not stupid enough to use your real name as your login name. Just asking.
