my friend found this coupe that was not yet sold at his local infiniti dealer....the dealer said that the coupe already has a deposit on it but the guy is taking too long to get it...so dealer said that my friend can have it if he wants...is there a catch..??..can the dealer do that to the guy that has a deposit on it already..??

People back out of deals all the time.
Make sure your not just putting down a deposit but purchasing the vehicle. Once the dealer has your money they tend to keep it or make it difficult for you to get it back.

Can't keep the deposit, it's illegal in California. It's completely refundable unless they have you sign something to the contrary.
