A 1/4 below empty? Now that's one empty tank.

Guys, this is a KNOWN problem in 03 and 04's. People cant fill up their tanks properly. Take it to the dealer and they should fix it. I thought this would be something they would have fixed in the 05's but I guess not.

I have a coupe never had problems but i also have a s55 and when i first got i t i would go click click click after it was full and after a while it would register full anymore it would go to about 3/4 the problem was a sensor that needs to be replaced but becareful not to tell them you do the clicking cause they may charge you.

Ive had my coupe into the dealer many times for this problem, the problem is when you let the take go below a 1/4 it creates a bubble of air, our tanks our saddle bag style tanks. So the bubble in the system shuts the pump off just let the car rest for a while or dont let it get below a 1/4 and you will be fine.

I Have An '04 Coupe And I Had This Problem About A Year Ago. You Have To Take It Into The Dealer And They Need To Replace A Sensor.

I've had this problem a couple of times and I brought it to the dealer. They claim they never heard of this problem and they didn't do anything to fix it. But magically after I brought it to them I never had the problem ever again. They must've fixed something.

I always drive to an (almost) empty tank, when the gas light comes up that is.

Everytime I then went to a station after driving my 370 miles or so, I've never been able to refill a full tank in one shot. For some reason, it *always* stops half tank, and will not allow me to put any more gas.
Then I drive few miles, go to the station again, and I am able to put an extra 10 gallons or so.

Last time, I even tried 5 different station, hoping it was a problem with the pump or something like that, but it didn't make any difference.

Anyone ever had the same issue ? Please teach me how to pump gas ? ;-)

I had this problem too on my 03. Its actually a crack in the filler neck of the tank. Dealer replaced with new gas tank and whatever comes with it. The bad thing is I think it might have the same problem again because its done it a few times in the past month. After they replaced it, it did fix the problem.

not a good thing to empty your gas before you go to gas station (talking in general)
i fill up my gas when i have like...1 or 2 unit above my last one.

I get 360-380 out of a tank and haven't had any problems at the pump in regard to filling.

Thanks. I drive it moderately hard but most of my miles are freeway miles driven in cruise control. On my way home from St. George, Utah to Newport Beach, Ca I got 405 miles out of one tank.
