Do you think that if he had done a short shifter (like I did) would this have caused him any problems with dealer regarding warranty?

Bad luck. Sounds like a mechanical issue and should be covered by warranty.

NISMO ROCKS
Nismo DOES rock!

Sorry for the incorrect nomenclature. I was referring to the "Control Rod" which acts as the link between the "Control Lever" (shifter ) and the tranny.

Nice pic of the Honda crap, though!! That thing looks like a bicycle cable!!!!

I tried to stay in 6th. to pull away after the stop I had to make but there was no way without smoking the clucth so i parked there.

I pulled out the card in my wallet, called Infiniti, had a flatbed there in 15 minutes (was impressed by that!) The flatbed driver gave me a ride home and was gone with my G... I was so upset I hardly slept...

Got a call from the dealer at 8AM telling me they were putting my car on the rack and will be calling me back as soon as the tech can determine if this will be a quick fix or something more.

I am home awaiting the call and will keep you all posted.

Too bad your crappy nissan transmission locked up. But its too be expected from a company like them. Honda builds the best manuals in the world. Nissan is near last.

Look man; I've owned several Honda's and possibly would now if the Prelude had not gone away but this is no place to put down Nissan, your in the wrong forum... All of my Honda's needed service at one time or another and my 91 prelude ate 3 transmissions which I had hell from the dealer on getting the second 2 replaced...

I am still a Honda fan but the S2000 is just too small and the Acura RSX is just another Civic to me... Honda should bring back the Prelude in AWD form if they ever want my business again...

Also; will my Honda dealer give me a ride home if my car is towed like Infiniti did? Probably not.... Will Honda bring me a loaner as soon as the dealer opens like Infiniti did??? Probably not!

Thats great. You assume alot.

Wrong forum? I dont think so. I'm interested in the G35c. Just the nissan fan who called Honda maunals crap is an idiot. Its a turn off to buy a G35 if it turns you into a *****.

Also, none of my Honda manuals every locked up. 1989 Accord coupe hatch, 1991 Accord sedan, 2001 Accord coupe Ex-i4....

Chill everyone... what we have here is a difference of opinions. Some people like to drive 3.5 liter 300hp v-6's with a transmission that has some real feedback, and other people like to drive hairdryers. Why can't we all just get along?

Picked up my G today with new transmission...

Picked up my G today with the new transmission; there is a noticeable difference between my original and this new one, this one shifts really smooth. I do not know all the differences in the two, but I am happy with the outcome of this whole situation. I put about 70 miles on the car since I picked it up at 6PM tonight and it did take some adjustment. The gate feels less notchy, although I like the way my original felt and would have been happy with it for many years if it would not have failed, I still can say there is something different in the two.

Nissan has changed some things since my original version was built, there is not much difference so I don't want people wishing they had a new transmission based upon what I'm reporting and I still cannot say if this transmission is better than the first, but there is some change in the feel of the pattern and the way the gate works. (the gate is how I am describing the actual feel of the shifters relation to the shift rods and the tension from the springs that keep them returning to a center (neutral) position and how that affects the feel as you run through the pattern.)

I am not sure if there is less distance to travel (a shorter throw) from gear to gear or if this transmission is smoother giving the feel that the throw is shorter am now much more curious as to what is different, however, I do know that if this one lasts through some years I will be very happy!

We shall see...
