Cool Is it Jealosy or is it just me

Ok, so I've had my 05 G35 for a month now and have noticed what jerks people can really be. For the past 10 years I had a toyo 4 runner and I usually never had a problem with people letting me in the next lane or moving over from the left lane on the highway so I can pass. But...since I've had my G, they never move over when driving on the highway when I'm coming on behind them (they always seem to actually slow down and keep with the car in the next lane so I can't pass. And i could put my signal to move to the next lane and the other car wont let me in. And when I finally can squeeze by I always get the same dirty looks. I've lived in Miami all of my 30 years and I know some people are not so nice here (especially on the road) but Man, it's like they're Big Time Haters.

A 1/2 hour a week could possibly be helpful in situations such as this one you describe.

Out here in L.A. the drivers are just morons and a**holes anyways, but i have noticed the same thing. Just ignore em and if they want to be a ***** just let em by and don't give it a second thought about it, that is what they want or they are just plain stupid to begin with.

My observations from the Miami roads:

When people see a nice car, they won't move over cause they don't want you to own the road. People here have an attitude problem. Reminds me of a road trip on I10 where I was stuck behind 2 pickup trucks for half an hour and neither of them let me pass.

People in Miami generally won't give you the thumbs up when they see you have a nice car. It may be cause we're too spoiled seeing Bentley GT's and Lambos on every corner. I've passed by many other G35's and people wouldn't even look over, much less roll their windows down to talk to you.

Eversince I've got my coupe only one car has tried to race me, a C6 on A1A. So that's good.

Btw we have monthly meets in the Miami area, check out the Florida G35 Club section if you ever want to meet up.

They need to start giving tickets to ppl in going slow in the left lane. but theres just some ppl out there that just don't know how to drive, can't help that. just be safe and back off till you get a chance to pass

That happens everwhere. Try being young and owning a G. Some a$$hole in a jetta almost got himself killed today on the highway becuase of his ignorance. I was in the middle lane doing 70 enjoying the day with my windows down. A black jetta in the slow lane pulls up next to me, I look over and see this guy in his mid 30s (biker type, bald head, all that) looking right at me (not the car). I could read his lips, he used the word f^ck a few times and wouldnt stop giving me a nasty look. I put a smile on waved and looked forward again for a few seconds. I look back over and the guy look furious (now Im staying cautious cuz this guy looked pissed enought to slam his car into mine). So I stay at 70 and he stays with me. Up ahead I see in *his* lane a car going about 60. He hasnt taken his eyes off me and were getting closer and closer to the car in front of him. Now I didnt really give a s^it if that guy got hurt but I didnt want him hurting the innocent person in the car he was about to rear end. Somehow I had to make this guy look foward.. I thought quick and the first thing that came to me was take off so he was forced to look foward (he cant look to his left when im not beside him). So I dropped to 4th gear and punched it and left him in the dust. I did it right at the right time because as soon as I did it I saw him completely swerve out of that lane toward the breakdown land and almost lose control of his car.

At that point I slowed back down to 70, but he kept his distance behind me... he might of realized what a a$$hole he was being. Probably not, but idleast I helped avoid his accident with an innocent person.

I've experienced a couple of times when slower cars rev at me from like two lanes away then take off... loud @$$ hell but barely pulling away... but I just ignore them... because it usually happens during the busy hours... not worth it at all...

I think the key difference is that they used to let you in when you drove a big Toyota 4Runner.

Granted, some narrow-minded people figure anyone in a nice car is an A-hole and anyone in a sports car is trying to cut their way through traffic. Those people are morons... ...all of them.

They're the same way in Chicago. Just remember, with the capabilities of your car, you can "take" whatever position you want on the highway. I don't ask to get on or off the highway or even switch lanes anymore.

I say, we just buy ourselves a F-250, raise the suspension about 2-3 feet, add wheels the size of... the G's trunk, and see who's gonna be an *** to you on the road. =)

Haha. Word If a big fat truck/suv/minivan wants in, just let them. I've seen accidents where the the truck had mangled axles and bumpers while the car looked like it was shredded to pieces. Truck ALWAYS wins
