Need some help with my f-up
Hey guys!!
I need some advice. My poor bumper has fallen victim again... albeit no rock debris this time...all me! I was leaving the stupid BB&T parking lot and I heard a most unpleasant sound pulling away from their crappy bank. Sure enough it was the dreadful nasty scrape sound!! After looking at my car, sure enough, right under the bumper on the driver's side is a nice "scrape" mark...you can actually see black. Any advice about getting this fixed...is touch-up paint the only cure? The good thing is you can only see it if you look under the front...it is not visible when you look straight on. In addition what is the big deal with these bumpers being so sensitive...heck bugs, birds, rocks, and dirt love the G too much too! I appreciate any feedback with this!!

If its under and you really can't see it, just use touch up paint man. No need to repaint the whole bumper at $300 bucks for what you described. And freaking becareful since you know its a 'soft' bumper. Use that $300 on some mods....

Re: Need some help with my f-up
hey dont sweat it dude...same thing happened to me
Just get a kit from your local auto parts retailer that includes:
small primer bottle
small clear coat bottle
sanding stick
fine grit sand paper
finishing compound
Then just get a small bottle of touch-up paint from your dealership or from Grubbs Infiniti (online)
http://www.infinitiwholesaleparts.com/en_US/
If there are any rough spots...just use the sanding stick to smooth it out....DO NOT USE PRIMER ON THE BUMPER because it is not metal and therefore only needs 1 coat of touch-up paint and 1-2 coats of clearcoat paint. then use the fine sand grit paper to smooth out the area, then use the finishing compound to top it off. Will be almost as good as new at only $10 total cost with lots of left-over paint/sand paper to do 20 more touch-ups on your car!

Re: Need some help with my f-up
Yikes...I just paid $273 here in Nashville for a repair and repaint of my whole front bumper...after a nice rock incident. Had to do the whole thing because of the black and it was dead center in the front......$700 seems mighty high....or are you in Canada??

Re: Need some help with my f-up
my suggestion would be to buy the aero kit front lip. for $360 i believe it cost at tha dealer. that may cover it up but you may have to do some research but its a way to possibly cover it up completely.. just a thought, my dad scratched my whole lower side of my bumper cover and its only like an inch up front, enuff for a lip to cover.

Re: Need some help with my f-up
I agree with Kozlikracing...the front lip spoiler won't be the answer as the nasty scrape sound could easily be felt/heard again. I followed Rambo's advice and I got mine back to normal. It took some time and help from an "expert", but I got my ride looking normal again. Now if I could make bugs and rocks dissappear I would be set! I still can't believe how sensitive our front bumpers are...I mean in my old beater (Volkswagen Jetta), nothing hit it...wtf?!!
