Zaino has an entire car care product line (shampoos, cleaners, clay bars, scratch removers, detailing sprays, etc) but ultimately, yes, it's a synthetic wax (although they classify their product as a polish, but it accomplishes the same goal).

Speaking of, has anyone tried the new Z8 uber-spray yet? I've heard anazing things about it in a few other forums.

Where is the CA car duster sold?

 

pictures of california duster anyone? I think id want one judging from everyone's comments. Where can you get one?

 

I got mine at Walmart - you can get them at most automotive stores

 

I just bought my duster at Costco. They sold the big duster with a smaller one for 11 bucks. I couldn't find a better deal anywhere else. As for Zaino, I read a little more on their site, and he doesn't reccomend the water blade since it can trap dirt particles which will scratch the paint. 100% high quality cotton towels only. As for the Duster, I also sent Sal Zaino an email and he replied with:

California Dusters are okay if you use them very carefully...

WARNING: Never use the duster on your rims. It will pick up metallic
brake dust and then can't be used on the painted surface because it will
definetely scratch. You can buy a smaller version of the duster
just for your rims..

Z-6 "Gloss Enhancer" spray was designed to remove light dust without
scratching. Use can use a California duster first. Dusters contain
paraffin wax and can leave smear marks on the paint finish. But if you
lay them on newspapers for a couple of days. This will help. Follows the
instructions on the dusters. Also if you use them very, very lightly you
shouldn't get any smearing.

After using the duster you should go over the car with Z-6. The dusters
create static electricty, which will cause the paint finish to rapidly
collect dust. The Z-6 has an antistatic additive that will negatively
charge the paint and neutralize the static electricity. Kinda the best
of both worlds. Okay???

 

Well, I've spent the last hour doing some reading at the Zaino Store. I'm hooked. Seeing the finish, especially on some of the older cars, nearly got me all choked up. The reflection on some of those black cars is incredible.

So for those of you who Zaino'd right after taking delivery of your G, did you still clay bar first or did you just wash with Dawn? I'll have a 4 hour drive back home after taking delivery, but she'll get cleaned and carressed with Zaino ASAP.

My wife is also getting a new vehicle, so it looks like I'll be ordering a Zaino kit and staying busy.

 

I love Z-8 and the new Z-2 PRO. There are several Zaino distributors, however, there may not be one in your area. My friend is a Zaino distributor and he's in TN. I'm waiting to try the new scratch and swirl remover (not Z-5, which does not contain abrasives).

After I wash and dry my G (about an hour). I can apply and remove 1 coat of Zaino in about an hour, if the temperature is above 70*F and the humidity isn't too high - not a problem for me since I'll polish in my climate-controlled garage.

Zaino is a synthetic polymer which does not contain silicone or natural waxes.

 

It is not synthetic wax. It is a polymer compuond that completely seals the surface. That is why 60% is left after 6 MONTHS vs. 60% left after 6 WEEKS of the finest carnauba wax.

 

Actually, I always pickup my Zaino supplies locally. There are regional distributors that service their areas. Per Sal's rules, they can only ship within their regions.

After you apply zaino. HOw often do u wash your car? and do you need to reply teh zaino after each carwash or no?

 

I used to use a California Duster. I stopped. It kept leaving red fibers all over my car. Though my car was black, but still... I also noticed it spider-webbed the wax on the car. Problem went away when I stopped using it. Many said it's because the CaliDuster is made of polyester, which is harder than your paint, so it could scratch.

I thought I was pretty careful, and I dusted off the thing each time...

But anyways, I'm having better luck just dusting off the car with a microfiber towel. Seems to work better, and you can just toss the microfiber towel in the wash. (Just don't use fabric softener)

 

I was my car every week, some people do it every other week and some do it once a month.. it depends on the color really.

i have a black car and washing the G once a week is a must.

when i first got zaino, i stripped the old wax using Dawn, i used the clay bar, and i applied 3 coats of the Z2 and 3 coats of the Z5 with Z6 spray in between.

after that, i use the zaino shampoo to wash my car every week, and i apply the Z2 or the Z5 afterwards, taking turns every week with the Z6 spray.

the more coats you apply, the slicker it will look.. but now ive ordered the Z PC swirl remover cuz the Z5 just isnt powerful enough.. im worried that it will strip all the polish ive put on (10+ coats of each polish) like it said in the site. anyone tried it?



I also have the cali duster and i use it every night i put it in the garage and the Z6 spray afterwards, it works great, i havent noticed any scratches, but a lot of smears.. thats why i use the z6
