Why does it sound like it's struggling?
Why does it sound like it's struggling?
Well I finally finished the break in period, so i decided to see what bawls my car has today. Took it on to a lonely wide road, and went for the lift off with VDC off. But once I get to around 5k RPM it sounds like the motor is roaring but struggling, makes such a big noise but not enough of a pull to live up to the roar.. Is it just me (in my mind)? or does everyones G do the same?
btw: i love my car.

Did you come from a turbo vehicle prior to this?? I did and I initially felt the same way! I don't know about you, but it took a little while for me to get used to the linear power. But I am used to it now, but FI is deffinitely in my future!!!

After driving conservatively for a while, the ECU will have to relearn performance driving which may take a little time.
An easy way to skip the relearning is to do an ECU reset..... look in our FAQ/DIY forum for details.

yeah i'm in the same situation my car hit 1k so i decided to take it above 4k.
right around 5k it feels like its struggling and the drivetrain feels coarse.
best way to describe it would be to associate it with flywheel balance.
it feels after 5k RPM the flywheel is not balanced and you feel like the drivetrain is not properly lubed.I'll try the ECU RESET today during my lunch time.

K good. It's not just me.
Yea, i came from driving a 2000 Honda Si. I loved every moment of taking that baby up to redline. Then i got power hungry so went with boost, and then came over to a more luxurious car. So I will be reseting the ECU, and see how that goes. Thanks!

Just give it some time. After owning a 03 350Z (12,000 miles), 03 G35c auto(20,000 miles) and now a 05 G35 6-speed with 1000 miles on it i know a little about these engines breaking in. The 03 G35c auto felt like it keep getting stronger all the way untill about 15000 miles on it and then it seemed to level off
