Just ignore what everyone is saying here and look at them side by side and decide which you prefer. Its your car.
the spoilers of a Evo and STi are ironing boards, complete w/ stands. i just don't see the ironing board effect on the G. who's fkcud up imagination came up w/ this? from a carmag writeup?

Yes, I have seen the "ironing board" comment made in a mainstream auto mag. If you look at it, it's not hard to figure out why. I used to really like the OEM wing. Just doesn't do it for me any longer.
I think the thin profile, along with the way the OEM spoiler extends out on the sides is why someone slapped it with the "ironing board" description. FWIW, I do believe the author of the piece (might have even been a little blurb in the long-term test update section) was a young woman... ...who expressed that she still wanted to buy that long-term tester.
Again, I used to really like the OEM spoiler (still do, somewhat), thanks in no small part to those very traits mentioned above. But the "ironing board" description must have struck a chord for so many others to be using the same description. To each his/her own.

I'm planning to get mine w/o the spoiler. It looks ugly IMO, especially from profile views and 3/4 rear views. I don't agree w/ the "base model" comment. Spoilers are optional on the majority of cars. When I see 17 or 18 inch rims then I think base model. Most manufacturers with different trim levels package the car with different rims. Thats why I'm planning to go 19!
