Plus the BOSS would not drive the Stang ( due to it being a stick ). She can drive the G, so it's a win win for me !!!
Yea ...... one of the first things is a cold air kit. BUT looking into a Procharge for next month. Just have no idea to shops in my area ( Chicago ) to do the work.

I've heard nothing but good things about them from customers & manufacturers. Good Luck.

The OEM airbox on the G isn't all that restrictive... ...or at least the "cold-air" and sealed box aspects of it level the playing field with the open-element filters that get their air from under the hood. Likewise, some have experienced idle and coast-down (approaching a stop) problems with some of the cold-air intakes, such as the enggine dying on them because revs drop too low. Some feel the stock airbox with a hi-flow drop-in filer (like a K&N) is the way to go. Search the site and get the scoop on what works and what doesn't.
As far as intake improvements, most are replacing a section of the intake tract with a smoother unit, such as the OEM part on the Z. That's the "Z-tube", and there are aftermarket "G-tubes" made just for the G35. Aside from that, a plenum or plenum spacer is your opportunity to really open up the intake side.
Most will tell you that the proven formula for power, with the least amount of mods, is: Headers, Cats, Y-pipe, Z-tube and Plenum... ...if you're staying naturally aspirated.
