Is this a good deal for 05 IP 6MT Coupe?
I am new to this forum but have been lurking for quite some time now.
I have been shopping around for an 05 IP 6MT for a few months now and I just found out I can use my employers VPP (Vehicile Purchase Program) which gives me 1.65% off invoice. So after talking to the Austin Infiniti dealer, she quoted me 33,715, which includes the premium package only.
Is this a good price? When using VPP, you can't negotiate, everything is a fixed price. So should I take advantage of this or can I get it lower by not using VPP? Please advise, I am looking to purchase this week hopefully.
Thanks in advance,
Bird

i don't qualify for VPP and ordered mine in Dallas for $34.9k before TTL, premium package and spoiler. That price is unbeatable, 6MT coupes aren't discounted that much when you try to wheel and deal. Which one are you gettin? There was an athens blue 6MT I was lookin at over there.
bird - You talking with Shaelea (Shaylee) over there?
I didn't order the premium package... ...only $230 in additional options (mat, splash). Had to order the vehicle, but because of that, they were willing to discount $1750 off MSRP for a total of $33,500.
So yes, I'd say that's a good price.

Yes, I talked to Shaley. She did say she had to order an IP coupe recently with no features, so I'm guessing thats yours? She seems like a nice lady, I am not sure how much sales tactics she is trying to do, but she said that the VPP price is only good till end of this month. Her manager made an exception to allow the VPP for the IP coupe for end of this month only, since she said they can easily sell that model for MSRP.
BTW, the 33,715 that I was quoted included all their fees, the only amt extra will be the taxes. She was willing to order the base G35 IP coupe 6MT with no added features which she quoted me no higher than 32,000.
I just don't like feeling rushed into a decision, do you think I should call their bluff and wait a few more weeks and see if they would still accept the VPP pricing? Do these cars really sell like hot cakes? I have seen plentiful G35's at most Infiniti inventories. Also, I am still working on the wife acceptance factor, its not as easy as it used to be in the single days where I could buy anything I wanted with no discussion. hahah
Thanks for your help, please continue to give suggestions or advice!

technically she is right, if i understand everything correctly, VPP offers must be renewed by nissan/infiniti every month. However, once a car makes it on to the vpp list its not coming off.
however, vpp is dealer voluntary so if they decide not to offer that anymore, then just go to another dealer who will. It will be the same price
That price will still be there next month. If they try to tell you it won't be then its the perfect opportunity to line up another dealer.
bird - Yep, that's my 'Lightweight Hardtop' or 'Competition Edition', as I like to call it.
lol
If you want to order an '05, I'd jump on the price and get the ball rolling. Otherwise, concentrate your efforts on working a deal for an '06 and get one from the first batch to land here.
The price seems right. Out of curiosity, what would be the point of waiting? If it's in hopes of more of a discount, I'd tell her that's what would close the deal for you immediately. If she doesn't budge further, be comfortable in the fact that you got a good price and get your order in.

The only reason I am waiting is because we are moving in a new house this week and don't really have the $ or time to be buying a car until finances are stable and we have settled into our house. I have the $, I am just waiting for the market to go up more before I sell some mutual funds to pay for the car.
I just talked to Shaeley and she said she would go ahead and honor the VPP next month IF that car is still around. So I guess I sorta called her bluff.
Do you think the 06 is worth waiting for? When will that be arriving in show rooms?
