cars direct

Hey, has anyone got their G35 coupe or heard from people who got their car from carsdirect? I tried to build one and the "target price" i got was $34,204 before taxes.

The G includes
Performance Tire & Wheel Package Premium Package. What do you think about this?

i didn't get my G from them, but I got my previous car. The process couldn't have been easier. if they had a decent price in my area for my G, I would have definitely gone through them.

I've bought two cars from Carsdirect (including my G35) and I highly recommend them. They give you a good price overall for the average customers but if you like to haggle I'm sure you probably could do a little better. Me, I'm not into wasting my time or the aggravation of haggling so it was perfect for me.
Process is very easy, click the options you want and color choices and the price it says is the price you pay except tax, licences, etc.... Submit and they call you back in less than 24 hours to confirm. Then they look for your car and call you back when they do find one. They fax over some papers for you to sign and tell you which dealer to go to pick-up your car. Once at the dealer you do an inspection and then sign the final papers and off you go. One thing about them I don't like is they try very hard to sell you the extended warranty, I guess they make a commission on it. But just say no, if you don't want it. The dealer they send you to is usually within 30 miles of the zip code you use (of course that depends on if there is an Infiniti dealership within 30 miles of you or not).
Another thing I don't like is at the dealer they make you wait like 2-3 hours for the pick-up. I don't get it. All the papers are signed, the car is reserved for you, the financing or cash is done, so what's the delay? It's not Carsdirect's fault, it's the dealer's fault but still aggravating. So don't worry about being on time for your "appointment" with the dealer. It doesn't seem like they value your time, so who cares about their time.

I bought my IS with Carsdirect. It was a great experience. The price on the G was not as good, but I do recommend them.

I just called ever dealership within about 50 miles of me -- I am in southern California, so there are a TON -- and i gave them about 200 less than the Cars Direct price and said it's the best price i have, what can they do for me. I found maybe 2 that were able to beat the Cars Direct price.

I do know that carsdirect will pay you back the difference in the event that you find a cheaper deal than their price.

Cars Direct did nothing for me...sorry to rant.. but they called me right after I registered on their site and asked when I was going to order the car through them. I asked first what price I could get, so they offered about 200 off of MSRP for a 6MT Coupe. I said I'd rather take my chances negotiating for a better price at a dealer because that price is too high. Then she tells me, "Well we are a huge fleet dealer, and there is no way you can get a better price than us. 6MT Coupes are a hot commodity right now and you won't be able to find one for cheaper than our price."

So I told her good luck and don't call me, I'll call you.

I got my 6MT Coupe for Invoice in So Cali.

I wrote down the carsdirect price as mentioned above and went in to the dealer. When they tried to throw numbers at me, I just told them I'd buy it from them if they could get close to the CD number. They couldn't get w/in $3000 of it and he went off on me telling me how I wasted my time and his time and that I'd never get it for that price etc etc. I smiled, said thank you, walked out, went home, and pressed the order button on the computer (it was still up from looking at it before I left to go to the dealership). At the time I ordered mine, they had a 7 day guarantee which meant $500 off if the car took more than 7 days. In 8 days, they delivered the car to my front door and I signed the paperwork on my kitchen table. So, it turns out the dealer was right. I didn't get the car for the price I showed him, I got it for $500 less.

so, in other words, yes. I recommend using carsdirect if their price is good.

Thanks for your help guys, i just called cars direct and they said that they do not offer leasing on G35 coupe in NY. If i still walk in with the printout of carsdirect price ($34,204) do you think the might beat/match it?

I think they might. Have you just tried to call around to all the dealerships in the area with that number and ask if they will beat it? if you are ready to buy now that would be best. Just tell the dealership you are ready to buy and if they can beat that price you'll be down in a few hours to take care of the paperwork.

if they say they can't just say thanks for your time.

I got my 05 G35 coupe for $800 less that carsdirect was offering. Get the invoice pricing through edmunds.com then get pre-approved for a loan with Eloan. Then call around to several dealerships and ask for the fleet manager. Say that you are doing a cash sale and what is the best he can do. The dealers that I called offered pricing ranging from MSRP to $400 over invoice. I obviously went with the $400 over invoice. By the way, most of the deal was completed over the phone and when I got to the dealership, they beat my Eloan APR!

I hope that this helps.
