For an 8 footer, maybe you can try to fold the back seat down and fold/push the passenger seat all the way forward. I think you're stuck with a rack though.

I'll try pushing the front seat all the way forward. Wouldn't that affect my view of the side mirror though?

I fit my 6'3 board in no problem. Just make sure to dry your board off after you are done with you session. And line your towel so that you don't get wax on the seats. Pretty chill.
