test pipes are basically taking the cats out right. gains should be the same on most. so fitment would be the real issue depending on piping diameter and if you have headers and y pipe to go with them. i would wait until you decide on an headers/y pipe/exhaust before you pick one.

I have Megan Racing simpley because they're cheap and they all work about the same. Plus they are resonated. I ran this for a while with stock exhaust also.

I assume that most of the people here with Test Pipes either live in a state that doesn't check emissions, or they have a hookup for getting a "shady" inspection sticker?

Most likely, or dont mind swapping them out at inspection time. I bought Crawford HF Cats so I wouldn't have to un-install then re- install every inspection period!

I believe all test pipes are basically the same in the end. What sets them apart is build quality, and fitment. I personally have Helix Test Pipes, they are built well, and the fitment is perfect, no issues at all. It so happens that Gruppes has a special on a set of Helix Test Pipes for a great price.

We have new cars, we don't have to worry about smog for another 6yrs, I don't sweat it

Anyhow, I had no fitment issues with the Megan Racing test pipes. They sound good with the stock exhaust, a little bit raspy, but all test pipes sound like that and its only at a certain RPM. For the most part, they are great, I have no regrets in getting them. And for the price, they can't be beat.

I'd get testpipes, but I heard they make it sound really cheap, high pitched raspy and whiny like a riced out civic with a fartcan. Is this true?

ive been through 3 sets of megan racing test pipes, all 3 had defective resonators, parts of the resonator break off causing an awful bb pinging sound at WOT and when engine breaking. i do not recomend this product.

I got my test pipes from Ebay... I paid around $40... and I most as I was really impressed with the fitment... No problems what so ever... Came with all the hardware... I think it was worth it... I was comparing it with the other name brands out on the market and it looked all the same...

stock cats, my last set of test pipes caused my car to smoke like crazy, and it wasnt the machining oil used, it smoked hard for almost a month. That was a month ago, now im always low on oil and my low oil pressure light is constantly comming on, my car goes into infiniti on tuesday after the 4th. My service manager thinks its some sort of internal issue. Good thing he ddint know i ran test pipes. All i can say is good luck with megan racing pipes, i realized the hard way, you get what you pay for.
