Having said that, do many dragstrip launches in a WRX, and you will eventually destroy your tranny.
My WRX (with STi injectors, VF34 turbo, remapped, no cats, etc) would eat my G35 for dinner in most speed ranges, I'm sorry to say. I kinda miss the 17psi surge at 4000 rpms.

As for a stock rex, it will run 0-60 right with the G IF properly launched. Most people out there are unable or unwilling to really launch the WRX right. It takes some skill and it's hard on the relatively weak stock tranny. Launched correctly though, the WRX will take a quick lead and then the G will start to reel it in as 60 approaches. Past 60 the G will walk away from the rex.
I miss my old WRX, but I'd take the G over it any day.

WRX has one of the worst gear ratio's for rolling starts. I know cause I had one.
And on any day above 75F, say byebye to any kind of real power. it felt like
a Corolla. The wrx was very powerful in 25F-40F range though... excellent thrust
with Utec and all. but i prefer my G35C's consistent performance over the rex
anyday.

Had a run with a modded WRX at a two-lane traffic circe that looks like "?" at Golf and Wolf. I come home everyday and look forward to testing my suspension upgrades here. We both hit it and I immediately take the lead. Then the bend comes and I lose him completely. I was ahead so much, that I actually took his lane. He gave me a thumbs up and the next light. I did the same thing to a V8 Firebird today.

A number of you may have had run-in's with 'modded' WRX's and pulled on them - especially from a roll. The WRX is now an inexpensive car and there are a lot of uneducated kids driving around with useless mods like a BOV and CAI (which will hurt the performance of a rex). The majority of rex's that you will come accross won't be much of a threat from a roll.
Still, I've never heard of a N/A G (or SE-R) that is any competition for a decently modded rex from a dig. Just look at the racing forums here. You see guys with thousands of dollars in mods that "just broke in to the 13's!!" If you head over to the WRX forums you'll find that guys with only a few K in mods are regularly posting timeslips in the high 12's and below. The STi is a 13 second car bone stock.
I'd still take the G any day though...

My previous car was a 03 WRX and my current car is a 03 G35 Coupe MT6. I've taken both cars to a local track this past year and I must say that the WRX is faster. This is stock for stock. Turbo lag does suck so anything under 3500 rpm = nothing. But once you hit boost, you're in another world.
53hp and torque more than the WRX will not make up for the 500 extra pounds the G35 carries.
G35 Coupe = 12.5 hp/lbs
WRX = 13.2 hp/lbs
Don't get me wrong. The reason I got rid of my WRX was b/c the interior did lack big time and I think I've moved on.. away from the "boy racer" stage... G35 Coupe was the perfect fit.
