Bose sound system is weak at best.

My G35 Coupe premium 6MT is one week old. Love the car, but not too crazy about the sound system. What can I do to improve it without spending a fortune. Replace the factory speakers?, Add a couple amps? Add sub-woofer system. I want to spend $1000 at the most, what would you do?

Another thing is to make sure you let it break in before you completely give up on it. I was really disappointed at first but it definitely gets better over time as the speakers break in a bit. It's still far from perfect but I enjoy it enough to keep it.

Mac: Some folks are just never gonna be pleased with a factory system. I've got a combined 110 years of rock'n roll experience on these ears (55 on each) and my Rolling Stones. Doors, and Jerry Jeff Walker CD's sound just fine in my G-Coupe. But if you must tinker (and 30 years ago I probably would have... but then again, I couldn't have afforded one of these fine driving cars), I'd start with the speakers. That's usually the weakest link of a system.

Has anyone been to the Infiniti website lately? It lists an additional sub as an option available, any information on this?

Re: Bose sound system is weak at best.

The first thing I did was adjust the base and the treble. I actually lowered the base as it sounded like Sh%T when I turned it up to 5. I could not belive it. I have the treble at 4 and Base at minus 1 or minus 2. CD's sound okay, but the radio sounds terrible. I will wait a bit to see if they break in some more, if not, I will replace the speakers and add a few amps and a sub system. I have two Alpine AMPS and a Kicker Sub system in my 4 Runner that I am selling. Perhaps I'll tear out the equipment before I sell the truck.

Re: Bose sound system is weak at best.

Info from the infiniti website (I never noticed this difference before):

Bose system as part of the premium pakage:
225-watt Bose® premium audio system with AM/FM/cassette/6 CD with 8 speakers

Bose sytem as a stand alone option:
200-watt Bose Premium Audio System- 6-disc CD autochanger
7 speakers
Bass boosting Nd™ woofer

Are there two different bose systems? The bose system with the premium pakage doesn't specifically say it has a subwoofer...it could just have 4-two way speakers. But then who wants to order the stand-alone bose with the "Nd" woofer and miss out on the premium pakage extras?
If I get a chance I'll give infiniti a call on this...
