Infiniti GT35 Edition

I was just looking through my June 2003 C&D when I came across an article about the 2004 Porsche GT3. Basically a N/A 3.6L engine putting out 375HP and 284 ft/lbs of torque.

Do you think there could be such a limited edition G in the future with a tuned engine from the factory? If Porsche can build a 3.6 into a 375hp monster, what's stopping Infiniti? The gas milage is even listed as 18mpg, which is better than the 17 I'm getting right now with ONLY 280hp!!!

Anyone want to ponder how Infiniti can create such a beast and whether it would be corporately possible? I'm betting that with the bump in image that Infiniti has received with the G35, that a GT car would throw it over BMW's reach!

Some GT3 stats:

0-60 - 4.0secs
1/4 mile - 12.3
Top speed 190mph
Weight - 3050lbs

Moral of the story? Don't race this one without nitrous and a S/C!

Anything is possible dude, they would just have to strengthen the internals of the engine to let us rev to 8,000 RPM without exploding the block, heh

I would rather have a twin turbo model, rather than just tuning the engine to rev higher, thus having higher RPM, but notice that it has just about the same torque# as the regular carrera, meaning its only faster at higher rev's.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was thinking about the higher revving engine. However, the torque curve is very different with more power up top. Basically, our engine is a HUGE compromise between a sports car and a tourer. If we had they allowed for lower torque down low, I'm POSITIVE this engine can easily produce 320+++ with a higher rev limiter. However, Infiniti wanted a car with tons of torque throughout the range, so we get this engine. I'd prefer the higher revving engine personally, but I'm sure all the auto drivers wouldn't!

A "GT35" would definately be a limited car only with 6 speed for sure. As far as the awd version goes, it wouldn't be as light and handling would be heavier than it already is. I'm just talking about a tuned up G35 as we're currently seeing it.

I can't wait to see someone build an all engine Z or G. I'm dying to see the true potential of this car!

i love when people state rumors as fact, im expecting a VQ30 or maybe something in between since thats what the GTRs are running in the JGTC right now.

Re: Infiniti GT35 Edition

All the G35 needs is the 340 horse V8 stuffed into it from that boaty family car that Infiniti sells.....Make a few cahnges to that bastid, and you will have well over 375 horsies to screw with....
