wow.. Breakin it in more?
wow.. Breakin it in more?
Hey guys.. I've been lurking on these forums for about a month. Purchased my IP coupe 6 speed about a month a go. Broke the car in by the book. Soon as I hit 1200.. Literally.. WOT. I was hoping to time it at a stop light.
:P
Anyway, Man.. I'm at 3500 miles.. I can feel a difference in power from 1200 to now. For the past few days I've been able to chirp second. Today I basically.. how can I say.. spun second. Basically, longer than a chirp. Like the tires where searching for grip. The grin on my face was Priceless. I must've hit it just right, and I didn't consciously power shift.
Anyway.. I'd thought I'd post a pic of my old car (before I sold it) and the new G. White isn't my favorite color.. but the IP looked so Jazzy smooth in the sun. Great forum and I look forward to you guys advise on upgrading.

A lot of people claim that their cars feel faster after 3-5k miles compared to right after break-in. I can't speak for myself because I only have half your mileage but I guess it takes a little more than 1,200 miles for the car to fully show its potential.
Hey finity.. well I can attest to the claims. The car feels quicker. Whether it has to do with me following the by the book break in procedure.. don't know. If it is, then I highly recommend new owners to have some patience. I mean, before break in I went over 4k revs like.. twice. But I never actually had the pedal to the floor both times. I have been driving aggressively the past few days too, so perhaps the ecu is like "ok already, I get it."
.
Btw.. meant to say whats up to the guys *and* girls.
.Btw.. meant to say whats up to the guys *and* girls.

Had about half tank of gas.. Weather was a nice 75 deg. Nothing out of the ordinary. I really believe that this is a result of the ECU adapting to me, as well as the engine coming into its own.

^No worries. I don't drive everyday.. I work from home. And like I said, I'll open her up at least once a day. So basically I'm pretty chill. I used to thrash the eclipse a lot more. Had the GST for about year and a half with no clutch problems. Matter of fact only issues I had where spark plugs (gapped wrong) and some balance issues. I miss that little car sometimes. So easy to toss around being as light as it is.
