Its not a retrofit... its a swap. Retrofit is when you frankenstien HID projectors into your existing reflector headlight. This is just a direct swap of the entire headlight housing.

IMO, the projectors finally complete the car. A luxury car should not be without it!

You do not know if it will just be a "swap". The headlights might have features that are not directly apparent which would make a swap just as hard as a retrofit.

Yea like the Auto adjusting lights that turn as the wheel turns...ECU regulated...

hella yes. (no pun intended). I want a set of those. i bet they're bixenon as well.... sort of like Benz. The other halogen hole is used for flash to pass high beam.

if anyone is putting a mass order together, sign me up and PM me.

I wonder if these headlights will get stolen like the 02-03 Maxima.

True, you have a point. At this point, we really dont know whats going to happen. I probably could go to that website and have the pages translated and look for specs on the headlights... but I'm to tired right now to do that

Why would they be "bixenon"

They still have the hi/low-fog light below. Sorry but these are gooing to be single xenon, autoleveling at the most. As for the other features. I know as much as you.....

Would the auto leveling require an ECU to monitor the angle of the headlights? Or could the servos that level the headlights be managed by themselves? I hope you can just directly swap these things in without too much trouble.

Most autoleveling systems stand alone, but now most require ECU because they are directional as well.

We really have to wait and see. But on the 2006 sites there are no comments made about autoleveling or directional lights so my best guess is its going to be plug and play!

sweeeet... i don't think these will be dynamic headlights as none of the other Infiniti Projector headlights have the swiveling projector technology... so we should be able to plug and play.

But I'm afraid the cost will be like 600 or more a piece.

edit: M series has adaptive lighting...

hrm... i don't think they'll put it into the G tho, it's too much of a premium item to offer from an entry level coupe to a premium sedan

One would think that if the headlights didn't get steering angle input from the ECU, it would just maintain straight ahead aim. If the headlights would just refuse to turn on, I'd hate to see what happens when you drive at 2am, and the steering sensor decides to go south.

I would think that mid-cycle refreshes, would be limited to simple things that don't require a whole lot of retooling. I mean, a new headlight assembly... Doesn't sound too hard. Redoing the harnesses, mounting plates, ECU, that sounds like too much effort/cost for a mid-cycle refresh. But then again, what do I know... All I know, is I want in on a group buy
