I do really like my S2, but for some reason, I occasionally get false alerts on the laser. Anyone, experience this? I haven't been able to figure it out.

Neal, go with the V1. Its awesome, i have gone through my share of radars and the V1 seems to be the best. For an example, when the v1 goes off, it tells you where the signal is coming from. Front, sides or rear.

With other radars, it just goes off and your stuck lookin around.

And plus if you have the homelink in your rear view mirror, you can make your v1's wire be hidden.

Ill show u mine later next week. A member on this board is helping me with the install.

I like the cordless
I'm the biggest ESCORT fan here, fight those retarded V1 guys all the time. But this is BULLSH|T!!!!

A battery powered solo can't beat the V1 sorry. Stick to plugin or hard powered models! 8500x50 or V1

ON ANOTHER NOTE: As to those stupid arrows. If you really think you need to know where to false alarms are coming from. Get that! What really sucks is when you have two of three "bogies" and all the arrows are blinking! or your cop is on the left and you look to the right. Man that sucks!

How many V1 owners look around and then slow down only when they see a cop? How many times do you see the trap w/ those little arrows? Bells & whisles bells & whisles

Not one test or magizine ranks the v1 higher than the Escort 8500x50 since Feb.2002(and that was aganst the 8500, when the x50 was on the market they [v1] didn't want to compare them)

v1 even ranks lower than the newest bel.

Take a quick time out, then ask yourself: What does a "radar detector" do?

The range varies from detector to detector & test to test, but 1200ft is a common range for these things. 800ft for laser.

www.google.com "radar detector" or http://auto.howstuffworks.com/radar-detector.htm

It's easy to hard wire the V1. You could either tap into one of the wires above the center lights or bring the wire down to the fuse box, which is what I did. Considering on max current draw, the unit could sink as much as almost 0.5 Amp so I decided to be on the safe side and have it wired directly down to the fuse box.
