depending on your state laws, sometimes trading the car in is more beneficial since you will only have to pay taxes on the difference of the trade-in and the new auto purchase. check if it's applicable in your state. if not, sell the car privately. you will not have to pay taxes on the money you receive when you sell the car. but, you will have to pay the taxes on your new car purchase, of course. i discourage doing the mexico scheme since most insurances will only give you low blue book value for the car. when you add that and the deductible, you will end up getting less than if you just sold it yourself. also, it's insurance fraud!!!! but i guess most ppl don't care about that

200 to realign bumper from nissan's work (thought about suing them)
400 to repaint bumper from nissan's work
3200 to fix key marks (500 deductible)

shortly after key marks, I see ding marks where I had the skateboarder damage repaired.
after closer inspection I found out that the panel was not painted all that great. If I decide to fix it, it would cost me another 500.
What makes you think your luck will be better with a new car? Damn dude - you've had it rough.

Go with the 6MT and you might be adding clutch woes to the list.

I was ready with my one liner, but you've been through enough. Sell it third party to someone ( put a for sale sign on it/ or put an add in the paper). Use edmunds.com to figure out it's value. You could try the dealer, but I'd figure out it's value first and then work from there. Good luck.
