Angry *****got A Hummer???******

I do!

What is the cause of this dreadful humming on the front wheels of the G35coupe?!?! I've heard alignment, I've heard tires, I've heard abnormal wear on the tires FROM alignment....

no luck here guys!

Here's the chronology of my noise problem:
(1) Bought my coupe
(2) Noticed noise...didn't think much of it
(3) @15k mi had front tires replaced with standard size tires...not the stretched size that comes from the factory
.....tires were severely worn on the inside...too agressive on the factory align
(4) Did new alignment w/tire replacement
(5) Noise remains...just quiter

*very annoyed

thks guys!

My brother's Coupe recently developed a humming from the front end, and it turned out to be poor alignment causing scallopping on the front tires. New tires and a re-alignment cured the problems for him.
Your new tires and alignment seem to have improved the problem so it seems to be a tire/alignment issue that you have.

Do the new tires have an aggressive tread pattern that would cause a slight hum? You're going to get some hum especially from new tires.

C.

If you are worried, get a good four wheel alignment done now. Many a car has come off the line with bad alignment.

^^WHS^^
Factory alignments are never that great, especially after shipping.
They get chained down & bounced around on trains boats & trucks.
It's usually one of the first things I do after delivery.

When I had my G done, it was within spec, but totaly out of wack.
It was + on one side and - on the other etc...

I couldn't believe how much the handling improved after alignment.
