Greetings everyone, I am coming up on a month of owning my G and so far I mostly love it. I wish for more power but that's me and what I was used to. On to the questions, I want to get Sirrus Sat radio, but I really do not want to have the antenna hanging outside of the car. I have read that people are mounting the antenna on the rear deck. This is what I want to do except I have 20% tinted windows. So does anyone have tinted windows and sirrus and if so, how is your reception?

I have Sirrius And Tint. I dont know if tint affects the reception but I have 35% and the antenna on the rear deck. The reception is fine, tends to cut out more on backroads with a lot of trees but only every now and then. My sister just got sirrius in her car and they put the antenna on the roof. She claims it cuts out every so often too so I guess it's just the trees. on open road it hardly ever cuts out. Oh and by cut out I mean The signal gets lost for a few seconds at most and comes right back. Personally I think the benefits of having the sat radio outweight the few seconds that it cuts out for. Hope this helps.

 

Thank you, I appreciate the feedback. It sounds like the tint has had pretty much no effect on reception. Did you do your install yourself ? Sounds like I will be ordering my receiver soon.

Yeah I did it myself. It was really easy and the antenna fits perfectly on the rear deck. You cant even see it when your sitting in the car. It took me about a half hour but It could have taken less. Just let me know if you need any help. PM me or something. Enjoy
