Should I purchase a '03 w/50k miles?
Should I purchase a '03 w/50k miles?
I've seen a few out there but with my budget, I'm interested in Gs with around 50k miles, for under $24k.
Should I go for the opportunity or wait another year?

i got my '03 @ the beginning of the year for $22k, but came with 52k miles on it...it was the only way i could afford it.
make sure you take it to a good shop and have them give it a great look over. make sure everything is kosher. it also depends where you are getting it from, if its from an infiniti dealer you should be ok, if not be very cautious and get everything in writing as far as any work needing to be done.
of course, you will only have 10k miles before the warranty expires...so any problems from the previous owner should be able to be addressed in that time frame, just be careful. good luck.

an 03 with 50k miles should be waaaay less than 24k!!
I bought my 03 back in Oct. 04 for only 27k and it only had 5,054 miles on it!! 6MT with Premium package, no nav.
Found mine on ebay, had to drive 250 miles to get it, but it was owned by a doctor who lived in a small town in Kansas. He wanted an SUV instead, so he sold the G. I got a particularly good deal I think, but look around and you should be able to get way less miles than 50,000 for $24,000.

Its really more of a personal choice/ affordability. Your average person on this forum is buying new or very low miles, so you can understand the mind set. Most people here would trade it in well before 80k miles; I would assume you plan to keep it over 100k. All in all the G35 is reliable and should last over 200k with normal maintenence. Keep in mind at a minimum you will be spending a few grand to replace expensive brakes and tires, and the dealer tune-ups can run over $600. Sure you can find clever ways to cut costs, but it depends how many resources you have. There's no easy yes or no answer to your question, a car with 50k miles is a car with 50k miles, it is what it is and its not what its not
You'll end up spending A LOT less money than buying it new for sure, and if its in good shape most people can't even tell that you didn't buy it new.
And of course as with any used car negotiate aggressively, check out the car and don't get the bug and buy it too early at a mediocre price.
