whoaaaaaa it looks sweet!! i too am wondering how much they cost ya! that is if u dont mind spilling the beans

ive been wondering this for a while now (well ever since i got my G, 2 weeks ago lol).. what is the biggest rim size you are able to put on a G?? without doing anything drastically like cutting, lifting the G and what not... what would be the tire sizes as far as the width can go on it? i'm wondering this because, i would like to go for 21's but 20's are just right! so i wouldnt mind going that route either.

thanks,
WaLLy

The results with the 20's, according to what his sig SHOULD SAY... he's running...

245/35/20 F, 275/30/20 R

Front: When his speedo is at 60 mph he's actually traveling 61.8 mph (off by 3.0% too slow)
I would go with a 255/35/20 (if you could find one) then when his speedo is at 60 mph he's actually traveling 60.1 mph.
Rear: When his speedo is at 60 mph he's actually traveling 59.6 mph (off by 0.7% too fast)
This is the tire size I would have chosen too.

I really haven't noticed the loss of acceleration, which I know there undoubtedly is some loss. I have a 99 six speed vette for snapping my neck. I bought the G because it's the sweetest looking ride for the money and they aren't as common, at least in Charlotte NC. It's my daily driver and I love how the car feels and drives. A hotrod not. I do agree with you though, she is gorgeous. Thankyou for the compliment.

It has to do with the aspect ratio. The overall outer diameter of the tire is a function of the 275 and the 35. If you change from a 275/35 to a 285/30 you get a different tire diameter and that results in varied speedometer readings.

I think that answers your question, no?

Why 245 & 275 Toyos?
Wouldn't 255 & 285 be better for 9 & 10" rims??

I thought so to but, PIAA recommends that size for no rubbing and it won't be an issue if I drop her.

Yeah I know. But you only live once and I really wanted 20's. 19's are sweet but they just don't look like 19" on the G. Hell I don't think the 20's look like 20's on the G if you know what I mean. The fenders and lines of the car mask the actual size of the rims in my opinion. I almost went with the new MoMo FXL forged but they were 1300.00 each, and only 3 inch lips on the rear. The fat lips on the rear of a G just makes the car imo. I've got my fingers crossed and I am trying to watch where I am driving, maybe I'll get lucky.

Hotness! Please would you mind snapping a couple of pics of both together?? I totally know where you're coming from.. after the first time I rode in a Z06, I just stopped caring about wasting my money on mods for the G. A G35 has to be running 12's in the 1/4 for it to impress me, anything short of that doesn't make a darn difference.. one day if I want a fast car I'll buy a Vette or an M3, in the meantime might as well make the G look good

Thanx. That was the look I wanted. I loved the factory rims, but on a DG car and no polished lip it was just to much gray. Also I wasn't feeling the way the factory rims sat under the car. It kind of reminded me of an old volkswagen beetle in a way. I didn't want all chrome either, just to much bling for me. You wouldn't believe how people do a double take on the car, as if they aren't quite sure what is actually different. So I guess they are subtle in a 20 inch kind of way. Thanks again.
