Because a silly American would sue Nissan for any damage the mishandling of said flare would cause even though the American might've caused it. We all know the silly lawsuits that are out there...

word to that. we would imagine that the citizens of the "most powerful" nation in the world would have an inkling of common sense. ie. hot coffee is hot. Fast food = fat ***.

ya gotta admit tho - that dumb hot coffee b!tch may have looked like a fool - BUT - she saw a loophole - took it - and her and her attorneys now made mickey d's look like a bunch of fools lol...

whats worse then the "citizens of the 'most powerful' nation in the world" not having any common sense is that even this caliber of people can win lawsuits and make a HUGE company look like dumbsh!ts - AND can cause a revamp in the whole industry, because now all coffee cups say "CAUTION: CONTENTS HOT" lmao "ya dont say?"

lmao as common knowledge as it may be...i guess some jury/judge somewhere felt that the idiot coffeee spiller lady had a good point...
lol so its really not that the citizens have no common sense - its just that the citizens are always lookin' for a way to make a buck (and putting a flare inside the cabin like pictured above gives them an easy opening to do so) - cuz quite frankly - u hafta have *****, gall, guts watever, AND some sensibility to say "im gonna sue over this" - u run the risk of looking like a moron and not making a penny or looking like a moron but laughing while u count your millions and enjoy a nice cup of clearly labeled hot coffee...

lmao i just find it funny...so dumb...yet so smart lol

There are some legit lawsuits, but some are just stupid. There was one about a grossly obese lady who wanted to sue GM because her seatbelt didn't fit or was uncomfortable.

That’s not a flare it’s a Japanese cigarette lighter. They are heavy smokers

That wasnt really the case. There's plenty of info on what really happened. It's not the best example of frivious law suits to cite. Not a lawyer, just saying. Once I actually read about it....

I'm glad that isn't in my cabin. I can only imagine what kind of havoc that would cause if my friends saw it and tried to play with it, not to mention that little kids would be sure to go right after the only bright red piece inside the cabin.

The coffee lady's name is Stella Liebeck.

Read more here if you're interested in the facts.

Randy Cassingham, the author of the "True Stella Awards" does a great job referencing actual frivolous lawsuits in the courts right now in his free newsletter. Oh, and I highly recommend one of his other free publications, This is True, that reports ridiculous news stories with witty commentary.

Didn't McDonalds also get rid of Super Size because someone sued them of getting fat off it?

why not put the jack and spare inside of the cabin too? just as useful there as in THE TRUNK where they should all be. remember when they all used to have the side view mirrors on the front fenders? they wised up with that too! ;-)
