I like a reasonably fat lip when it's practical/necessary, but I've never been into going with as fat of a lip as possible just for the "playa" aspect. For me, this falls into the 'too-much-of-a-good-thing-is-bad' catagory.
Of course, growing up, I always removed the price tags from my hats and never did buy into the notion that the thickness of your chain was a direct indication of your income.
Sure, it reflected how much you wanted to be viewed as a player and showed where your priorities were, but it accomplished little else. But like Neffster, I'm probably just a guy who remembers when bad meant good and sic meant you had the AIDS.
