You can get any tint you want (dyed, ceramic, metallic), and it will have no adverse affects whatsoever on the nav. I just had mine done in metallic a week ago, and the nav, XM, FM, and AM radio all still work fine.Originally Posted by rzaman

While most people do not have problems with their tint, any metallic tint COULD interfere with your GPS, radio (mainly AM), and possibly your cell phone. Most of the time the interference is most likely too small for it to be an issue. All tint manufacturers know this and can only guarentee zero effects from non-metallic tints, be it Color-Stable or Ceramic. I doubt you'll see any problems like G35UKY mentioned, but when you get in areas with poor GPS reception, I would imagine your car would get less signal than one without a metallic tint (assuming you got a metallic). The amount of visible light transmitted (VLT) isn't really a factor. While I don't have navi, since I have a radar detector in my car I ended up going with a Color-Stable tint (Madico Charcool) to prevent any performance loss.

Our factory nav and XM/Sirius goes through the bud on the roof right? If so, you could tint with aluminum foil and be fine. Then the only issue would be fm and cell phone. I've heard that some metallic tints can affect those. I would recommend searching tintdude.com's message board for more definitive answers.
