very true, one of the first things i got... just FYI![BRB](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/brb.gif)
The Size is 12mm x 1.25 and I got a nice set of em with the key (addional keys CAN be ordered) at my local auto parts place for under $10 bucks. Put em on myself with the spare tire wrench. Much better than $30 for the ones from the dealer.

Most people buy Mcguard but they are really crappy, you just need to take the right size socket, drive it in with a hammer and voila you can take it out.
I bought a set of gorilla(very good brand) for 38$cdn and the kit camed with chromed valves and 16 extra chrome lugnuts.

My dealership includes wheel locks with every car they sell as a courtesy. In fact, they put them on all their cars as soon as they hit the lot, whether they're already sold or not.
I'd ask your dealer to throw the locks in when you first negotiate your deal, if you can. I was going to buy them anyway, but it was nice that they were already included.

Re: Holy $%!/ go buy lock nuts
You know, I had a wheel/tire stolen off an '86 Accord. Just one. The thief left me his rim with a flat tire on it in trade, and also got his jack stuck under my car when he tried to lower it to the ground with no tire/rim on the axle. So, it wasn't about the rim, but it was darn inconvenient.
Consolation: The tire he took was already down to about 5/32's and had already been patched once.

A nice thief, that is hilarious!
I ad someone remove all four studs on some BBS rims I had and they must've gotten to the lock because they just left it and lowered the vehicle (1985 M318i) onto only one stud. I didn't notice because it was on the passenger side. I drove away and the steering felt really weird within 10 sec. I stopped and luckily figured it out pretty quicly. No damage was done- which really surprised the hell out of me.
Now, finding replacements for the studs (no lugs) on that old BMW was a pain in the ***...

I think he couldn't afford the brains to realize that there wasn't anything on the wheel to keep the car from going all the way into the dirt....
All you'd have to do is slide the other rim under the wheel, don't even put it on.. just lay it on the ground under the wheel.
