up three grand?
i'd internal mods for the cost.
bore out the cylinders 30 over, matching forged pistons, pauter con-rods, microplished and knife edge crankshaft, minor cylinder head porting, S/S swirl polished an tapered valves, and titanium valvetrain parts, ARP nuts and bolts and, an ecu reflash to match. it would cost me about $2000 for the parts and labor. I'd be puting the engine back together. If you let the shop put it back together, it would be right about $3k. you would be upgrading all the while giving allowance to a stronger bottom end to handle in excess of 400hp.

I'm betting a dual stage nitrous shot is what go you. Stage 1 to keep up and Stage 2 to pass.

Randy-
You're G is amazing!

{Stupid Question} If I bolt on intake/exhaust/headers now and later decide to supercharge; will I have to replace everything again? Am I better off waiting a couple of months and going straight for the turbo/supercharger?

Make sure you check out the NationalGClubf orums to hit up the locals on some info about your car and meets. Even give you some info on local shops and help with your mods!

I wrecked twice in two months; once at VIR and once on the street...I figured I needed a break for a little while. Right now it is just not feasible for me to get another bike. I agree though; I'd run circles around civics if I still had my R1.

It sucks, I know, but a modded civic pushing 200rwhp (or so), will spank our G's.. It's that Power-to-Weight ratio - PearlCoupe eluded to...

You gotta ask yourself, "did I get the G to race ricers or did I get a G for its refinement, class and good looks.."

heheh...I couldn't resist but I didn't know honda makes RWD civics now Could be wrong but I see your point with the P/W ratio. 2000+ lb. monkeys against a 3500lb. gorilla. Got the muscle, but weigh too much to move fast.

uh, where do you buy your parts at cause your figures are way off?

forged piston will cost $1000
Pauter Rods $1150
ARP nuts and bolts $380
ECU reflash (limited $395, full flash is $600)

Just with the above it puts you at $2925 with out shipping or labor not to mention all the other stuff you listed.

Wow! This whole time I thought I was getting a great deal from a reputable shop like SGP Racing.

The headers and exhaust may cause a lean condition on an FI application. If you have plans to go with a SC in the future, I'd wait.

Yeah, forget a SC cuz what's 400 to the wheels safely on stock internals anyway?

Or just make sure you get the car tuned at the time of install.
