IMO, S2000 is much faster. We could smoke them if the driver on S2000 is a *****y driver. If it's the same driver, S2000 will smoke G35s. Power to weight ratio is important but also right gearing is crucial. That's why 98 Civic Type R hatch can't beat 98 Integra Type R ( japanese models). Integra R have close ratio gears but Civic R don't. My 99 Prelude was AT and everytime it shifts in to 3rd gear ( freeway racing ) VTEC gets cut off because gear ratios are too far apart and the rev drops to about 5000rpm ( VTEC kiks in at 5500rpm). gearing that matches the engine is very very important.

i was also debating this with my cousins, before i bought my G of course! all they think about is "who has the most ponies.." and when i compared the S2K with the G to them, they would always say, oh the G will smoke it because it has more horses. but i'm the type of guy that always thinks about the weight factor to come into play. yes, the S2K has less ponies, but it is also lighter than our G!!

all in all, it comes down to the driver IMO!

we all picked the G for mainly one reason, the luxury sports coupe!! and of course, it's not that slow either :P

and whenever i do take the G to the track, (which wont be anytime soon) i do hope i can race an S2K!!

its as easy as this:

s2k with a good driver will sadly beat a G35 auto or manual.

with an average driver it will beat auto but our 6spd boys should take it.

with a sucky driver g35 will easily win.

S2000's are great cars but sooo hard to race, they fall out of vtec sooo easily if you mis shift (done it many times), once you mis shift, you drop outta VTEC... and its slow as hell!!!

our Gs are soo much smoother then s2ks though so who cares who wins, were are more comfy driving the g35 daily.

If you wanna cruise and hook up with a chick, then G35 is the shi*. If you want speed, get a meat head like Mustang GT. If you wanna get killed in an accident, get S2000.

errr.. what kinda reply is this?

some ppl take too much pride in what they drive and think that every other car out there is a POS....
maybe u should drive some other cars so u give them some credit too rather then having the attutitude " i drive a g35, i am the ****"

I like them both. I wish I could have both with out having to pinch the pennies. But I guess I'm doing pretty good so far, can't have a New G, Crotch Rocket and an S2000, so I had to sacrifice the S2000. Plus carving up twisties is a lot more fun on 2 wheels IMO.

From a performance perspective, the G35 might have the edge in acceleration, but the S2k will beat it quite handily in anything that involves braking and turning.

Did you read 6mtpnut's reply? He's right on point. Nobody is saying your lying. The guy you raced just didn't know how to drive his car. There's already been a whole 30pg discussion about this...
