gas foot rubbing?

gas foot rubbing?
does anybody else have this problem?
My right foot tends to rub against the carpeted area when i am driving. I know there is a plastic piece there but that piece is placed too low and my foot will rub agains the carpet. I imagine after a few more months of this that will be rubbed bare...
does anybody hvae a similar problem?
It only happens when i go to work with my work shoes.. I dont know what i can do about this.

My shoes aren't that narrow, i'm not really sure what you would consider a wide shoe though. They are shoes i wear for work so they are a little on the dressy side.

i've had my car for 3 mo. and 8200 miles, and i've got 2 spots, pretty much bare from my heels(6MT 
) I also wear dress shoes for work (which requires driving FOR work) I have since kept a pair of spare nike dunks for driving. You would think these mats are a bit tougher. My 92 integra mats lasted over 13 years before the spots started to come.
