Sounds like everybody likes these new headlights, including I. But what if Nissan wanted to be mean and they slightly changed the mounting and/or actual size and it's not even compatible with our '03-'05s?

If not, I'm in!

I doubt Nissan changed the fitting as it would cost them more to retool their manufacturing process for the other parts that fit around the lights. The full redesign isn't til 2007.

Alright let's see where to start:

I contacted a representative from Infiniti of Taiwan regarding the projector headlights. She told me that there has been some changes to the 06 Infiniti G35C that might be more than skin deep. For starters, she told me that on top of the headlights, the front bumper support has been modified, as well as the front bumper, tail lamps and rear bumper support.

From published papers so far I can't really tell any difference on the front bumper but she seems pretty sure about that as I was not the first person to contact her regarding the retrofit.

Now onto pricing news: The 06 headlamps are offered in two trims with vastly difference in pricing - HID and non-HID. I have not seen these headlamps in person so I really don't know whether or not the non-HID has projectors or not. The pricing is as followed:

Non-HID trim: NT$13,000 each with bulbs, harness, which makes NT$26,000 a pair. (USD$812)

HID trim: NT$45,000 each with bulbs, harness, that makes NT$90,000 a pair. (USD$2812)

All of a sudden projector retrofit on 03-05 headlights don't seem like such bad ideas afterall. I think it's safe to say we can call off this buy from Taiwan idea for now. We'll just have to sit back and wait and prepare to wait for them to show up on Ebay.

This is more reason for me to wait for an '06!

So the HID projectors will be about a $2k option?

Maybe the dealers will have an option list next month for the 2006....

Do you think the regulare projectors will be better than the curent 2005 headlights?

FWIW, maybe we can see how much these are from Infiniti in Korea, as from experience, I've found stuff in korea to be cheaper than in Taiwan anyways... Isn't the federal sales tax lower in korea than in taiwan?

Beats me, I would assume it would be a direct fit but the Inifiniti Taiwan personnel told me otherwise. On another note, base on the Yahoo! Japan Auction pictures posted above, it would appear that the clearance stripe no longer has a bulb in it - so the speculations are correct, 06 coupes lose the clearance illumination at night. Bummers, I love the eye shadow.

When/if its sold here, the blinker most likely will have an amber lense on it. Often times, I have noticed that USDM cars will have amber lenses when they would normally come with clear lenses in other countries. I hope I'm wrong though

Am I missing something? Korea, Taiwan, and USA, all drive on the same side of the road. Japan is the one that drives on the opposite side.

lol! Someones not paying attention

The title of the thread says "NEW COUPE"... which means '06
The foglights are shaped different to allow a better light spread for the projectors. They are smaller, and lower, allowing the low beam projector to be larger for the HID projector.
