Sport Suspension-5 Inches Higher?
About time the rest of you showed up to agree with me. I measured my coupe, 54.0 exactly. Full tank of gas. I thought I was losing my mind trying to convince someone that my 05 wasn't 5 inches higher than an 04.

Both tire sizes have a diameter of 26".You didn't read my post that I measured the roof at 54 inches. That's actually .8 less than spec.

THE WHOLE POST WAS SARCASTIC!!!!! I thought the post was so STUPID that I posted that out of SARCASM. That's why I said "ever heard of sidewall height" because I knew that was what made the heights the SAME REGARDLESS OF WHEEL. I would have thought that the
would have also clued you in to that fact. Get it? Got it? Good. You people don't know sarcasm when it smacks you upside the head!

Unfortunately, sport package sit's the highest of all three models, base sitting the lowerst. The heigth difference comes from the wheel/tires. Logically thinking, if you get bigger rims, more radius so more heigth. But you have to compensate for the 1/2in worth of radius by getting lower profile tires. I say 1/2 because you gain 1inch diameter, 1/2 radius on top of the rim and the bottom that adds up to 1 inch. 50 on base, 45 on Per. and 40 on Sport. Those numbers are in mm. So only 5mm differnce on thickness of the tire per inch bigger in size. And 1 inch is 25mm. 1/2 inch is 12.5mm. So if you want it to be even, it have to be about 245/20/19 for the Sport package to be the same height as the base with 225/50's. Or think of as one big circle. 19=475mm diameter plus 40mm for the tire. 515mm overall. But 17 inches is 425mm plus 50mm for the tire so 475mm over all. which means 19's have 40mm bigger tire than those of 17's. Which means 20mm radius so it's about 3/4 inch bigger(taller).

Good Gosh, the idiocy...there are some really uneducated people around here...I don't even want to try to explain why he's wrong. Ok, I will. The series of tire (50, 45, etc.) is a PERCENTAGE of the width. Thus, 45 PERCENT of 225 mm + 18, 50 PERCENT of 215 + 17, etc. You figure it out from there. They are ALL THE SAME, within the SLIGHTEST margin. END OF STORY. People, please at least attempt to educate yourselves before posting misinformation as fact.
