I think it is lame for people to call it rice. People do what they like on their G. I personally think it looks nice. Someone earlier said that maybe you shouldn't put exhaust or aftermarket stereo etc on your car. Isn't that rice then cuz civic ricers do it too? Forget about it, go with what you like, and forget everyone else who is bagging on it. One car you don't like doesn't in any way ruin every other G out there. That's a pretty stupid comment, sorry. I'm going to personalize my G to how I like it. If you don't, too bad.

I bet my double din deck is RICE, because I'm sure there are civics out there with it, or worse, cars that have it stock. I must be trying to be like them.

It had 19" chrome rims, Kandy Apple Red paint, vertical doors, and a ridiculously expensive stereo system. And that combination worked great ... for car shows. I went to shows all over the midwest and took 1st in my class. I could live with the road noise of 19"s (stock was 15") and the constant worrying over a $4,000+ paintjob. The pain of those doors on an everyday basis was the reason I got rid of the car.

If the G is your daily ride, don't do it. If you are carrying, say groceries or a shopping bag, imagine having to put that stuff on the ground (or in your trunk, but in my case my trunk had a custom fiberglass stereo enclosure), opening the door, getting the stuff off the ground, putting it inside the door, etc etc. EVERY TIME. I realized it looked stupid for me getting in and out of that car with my laptop bag, dressed in slacks and a tie. And then you have to worry about other people getting in and out of the car too. Just a big hassle and those doors "caused" me to garage the Accord and buy a Murano for everyday. It just sat there b/c unless it was show, it never left b/c its a pain to open. Imagine going to get gas and having 5 people coming over to you to ask questions about them. Great at car shows, the more attention, the more the judges notice. Sucks after working all day.

Now the Accord is gone, the wife drives the Murano, and I have a blast driving my new Infiniti.

.... but I will say this, it did a great job with the girls!

Had to leave that picture, what kit did you get VDC, GT Factory or some other one, i heard gt factory are easy to open

ya it was me who said that about the exhuast, but i compleltly agree with this statement, we might as well call clear corners rice and every little thing we did to our car. The Only thing left is factory items and we all look the same. Haters keep hatin, and ill keep my eyes open

FOR THAT MATTER....

HAVING MORE HORSEPOWER is what the lamborghini has, so its RICE to try and sup up your G with performance adders. If you want performance you should buy the lamborghini.

Isn't that the same logic?

Oh, I have TONS of pics of models from NOPI to HIN to Import Faceoff, etc etc.

The kit was from Decah. I got them about a year and a half ago and there weren't that many manufacturers for them out there. They didn't make a '98-02 Accord kit so the one I had was for the previous gen and we customized them to fit. Nice to have machine-shop friends

It's all much more clear to me now... I see how the thoughts of people that think this is "TighT" work.

I always wondered how their reason of thinking was like.

I don't like them. My friends (and me) would all make fun of me if I did that to my lovely G.

But sheesh folks, stop using the term "rice" for every single thing people do to their cars. Sounds like a broken record...

Has the term RICE been changed to a different meaning? Besides the kind you eat (lol), I thought RICE meant for a car to have useless mods done to it, and are screaming for attention.

www.urbandictionary.com is your friend.

just because some dude puts lambo doors on his car doesn't mean its rice. the word rice is so played out. now, if he put an uber ugly body kit on it with 2 spoilers in the back and ducked taped a few things on it. Then thats a different story.

so i got this from the urban dictionary

Owners of such automobiles feel that these accessories make their car the best in the world, when in fact it is not.

very true. he wasn't saying his car is the tightest ever because he put those doors on. have respect for your fellow g35 members on his/her views on modifying this beautiful vehicle.

it would be really boring if we came to a nice little meet of 100 cars, and all the cars are straight out of factory stock. ya know?
