how bad is it for the car(already broken in, etc) to redline it while shifting?

Re: redline...?

i'm no engineer, but i wouldn't be too concerned about it. Car is designed to accept high acceleration, redline rpms, etc.

Consider this, the automatic will go to redline when you drop the hammer, and this is specifically designed to do so.

With 6MT the rev limiter will kick in to cut the engine to before you can do any damage.

If we are talking about on a regular basis, redline at every shift, I suspect you will begin to wear basic engine components and parts, much faster than you would if you shifted at a lower rpm, not to mention the higher fuel consumption.

6mt coupe, red/willow, premium, aero
