My girlfriend had an emergency and took my car without permission. She curbed my rear rim. The rim is not bent but the problem is that a large portion of chrome peeled off. I have a set of 20 inch lowenhart LDR's they go for about 1200 a wheel. I was going to send the rim out to get re chromed this is going to cost me 225 and I am going to have to wait a minimum of 6 weeks to get them back. Someone told me since the rim is three piece forged I could order the part of the rim thats damaged (the hoop or lip whatever its called) I wonder if that is true and were I can buy this part and around how much it would cost. Hopefully it can be done and is not to expensive. So that I dont have to wait 6 weeks.

 

Why is it that no one understands how careful we are with our cars? I was backing out of a really tight spot today with a big curb on one side, a tree behind me, and a car next to me... it ended up being about 3 minutes of back and forth and the guy who was in the car with me kept telling me I was ridiculous because I was being so careful... fawk that... no one understands. Your story, my friend, is why no one drives my car... I would be irate if they took it without permission... and my wheels are stock... If she was my girlfriend, I'd kill her and sell her organs to pay for the wheel

To answer the question, yes you should be able to replace the damaged part if it's a 3 piece wheel. I guess you should contact Lowenhart directly..

 

i agree with finiti... lets have respect for your g/f or b/f... it was an emergency, and people are not worried about a curb when there is something more important happening... stuff like this happens, lets hope everything went well with the emergency and then worry about the rim... a rim is something that can always be replaced...

 

these are life's glitches.....loved ones are more important than loved things...(my fiancee would be shocked I said that.....I have a hard time even letting her ride in my car ...let alone drive it!! 8(.....ah but it is wrong).

 

It was an emergency? . . . I trust everything is okay. With regard to your rim, it's just that . . . It's a rim. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. However, It's not the worst thing, which is going to happen to your car. More importantly, I trust your girl friend's situation had a good ending.
