My Custom Grille

Here is a pic. of my new grille. I had debadged my car a few months ago, and I wanted to do the same to the grille. Some of the aftermarket grilles look alright, but I like the look of the stock grille the most, so I had the emblem removed and the slats continued across the gap where the emblem was. I like the look a lot and now the exterior debadging is complete. For those old-timers on the board, Ducatiguy did this to his grille, but he painted his grille black, this one has the chrome look just like stock.

Unfortunately, I have to sell my car now, so someone else gets to enjoy this one-of-a-kind grille. The car is listed in the classifieds section if anyone is interested under the post titled - "2005 G35 Coupe 5AT, DG, Only 1,800 Miles"

Very nice grill work, bro. Good luck with your sale -- someone will get a real sweet ride.

I bought a used grille off a board member (thanks G35sammy!), and slats were cut out of that to fill in the hole left by the Infiniti emblem. This was not as simple as it sounds because the grille slats are curved and they had to be modified to fit in the gap left by the emblem. Then the original finish had to stripped, primed, A LOT of hand sanding, and refinished.

It's not one of a kind. A member here OvaYaHead who lives in my area did his the same way over 6 months ago. They both look incredible though and I'm still thinking about doing it on mine.

Where did you get the grill plated?

I want to apply the same finish to my lower valence grills. Thanks!
