They have a law on how far away you must be able to see your brake lights light up red. Realworld, i've never seen anyone get pulled over for it.

wierd, my brother has (had) overlays on his wrx. a cop of the town we live in told him to take it off, and since he doesn't want to "**** where he sleeps" he had no choice but to take em off....damn the man....

and then a really bad day...someone hits you from the rear. totally no fault of yours. and the cop puts it on the report (or the insurance adjuster see's it at the shop) and you are boned. not worth it, imho.

dipends on the cop if he wants to pull you over then hill use that as a excuse dipends on what side of the bed he woke up on that morning. ive had my friend get pulled over for having his parking permit still handing on the rear view mirror while driveing so it all dipends on the cop.

Exactly. You could be found partially at fault if you run modified taillights. I've seen it happen before.

Any film or lens which reduces the output of the taillight is illegal.

Now if you get busted on it depends on the cops where you live. You can find illegal stuff on almost every car, it just all depends on how hard the cop is looking.
