I left mine the matte' black that it came.....looks fine against my lighter colored car. I painted that same mesh material in the lower oil cooler intake for my other car and it ended up looking like **** after taking rock hits.

You really don't want any attention drawn to the mesh so I would suggest keeping it the flat, matte' black color.....that way it sort of blends with the things behind the mesh like the radiator, etc.....and also matches the color of the mesh in the lower bumper openings. If you paint it black to match the grill then it will have a shiny cast to it and your eye will be attracted to that and take away from the look of the grill.

JohnnyG just installed his gialla on his the TB color when I did mine and he left his mesh the flat matte' black and his looks great on his dark color car. I believe mamboking left his flat black his black G.......his grill looked awesome and was the reason why I went with the gialla......his gialla mesh color matched the mesh color in the lower bumper openings.

It really ends up being personal taste. You might have liked it painted....I preferred to have it flat.

Btw.....what were they doing sanding that grill?!? If they were prepping it for painting, all it needed was to be degreased....not sanded....it comes rough already. Were they sanding off the flat matte' black?

You might want to check and see if they sanded off the matte' black finish that it came with.
