That's a really good point, being that I'm 23 and still get carded for rated R movies, I bet that was a pretty big factor in why the first dealership I went to, to fix my problem, gave me a really hard time. I would have asked my dad, but that wasn't a possiblity for me. Try that approach too, if you haven't already found a better solution.... keep us updated.

im 18...so ya that made a pretty big deal I bet. (he didnt buy the car for me) I bought it used so I can afford it. I would go to that dealer for all my service and everything, BUT I am in the automotive industry and my shop can take care of it myself. Oil changes, tires, brakes, suspension work, alignments, etc. anything that can be worked on, my shop can do. so that kinda wont work out too well, since i dont pay for any of those...and for the speed shifting and wearing out the synchros, i would DEF understand if it was 2,3,4 shifting, but 5th? not common. so gotta be the tranny in my view

haha, i work hard. My dad kinda owns the Co. so he knows about cars too. (to a certain point) and after i blew up on the guy, my dad tried to calmly talk to him and explain how that didnt sound right. But the guy refused to believe him, and my dad got aggrivated, but still kept his cool. the guy was a *****. So the engineer is here or something, and I have to meet with him on thur or friday. they want one hour with the car. Ill make sure im there the WHOLE time. I dont want them doing some BS while im not there. ANd yes, its so weird, they do get paid by infiniti to do warranty work, BUT not as much as they would charge and get paid if I were to pay it myself. FREAKING hate the dealer.

My car did the exact same thing when I bought it (used) and just brought it in to the Dealer and they replaced the whole tranny (no questions asked).
I suggest grea$ing up the guy that makes the call (service rep).

Worked for me! Now I get pretty much anything I want.

Far as I can tell from my experience, you can only upshift as quickly as the engine's RPMS can come down to match the transmission speed and you can only downshift as quickly as you can blip the RPM to match the transmission. They are full of $hit.

Don't they get paid by infiniti for this kind of work? Any dealer guys here?

As I posted earlier, the Dealer couldn't care less if he's paid by the customer or by Infiniti. Now of course Infiniti will deny coverage if there is strong evidence of abuse, but I don't know how that could be determined without tearing the tranny down.
