Angry Looking for a consensus from the Board.

Please give me a show of voice on how annoyed you would be if this happened to you.

The other day I was just driving to grab some food and came to a red light. Minding my own business and then this new acura TL pulls up next to me. I didn't think much of it cuz there are a ton of them on the road. Next thing you know the driver of the TL was looking me and my g up and down along with his family in a snobbish way. And to top it off, he revved his engine at me. I was like ok, fine, let's show this moron and his family how sad it is going to look and put them in their place. So I waited for the light to turn green and before you know it, the moron took off straight on full red. I was just too dumb struck to do anything cuz the light didn't turn green for another 4 sec. I just went my way cuz I have seen my share of morons, but this one tops them all.

What really got me annoyed is that this **** was just stock with no aspec or anything which translates to $32,000 + TTL while my 05 coupe is fully loaded. WTF how do you snob someone when you have nothing to back it up?

It wouldn't annoy me in the least. I've owned cars that had MSRPs in the $80s and I didn't look down at anyone. Most of the guys who engage in this kind of behavior have serious insecurities and they try to compensate by buying expensive cars, not realizing that 99% of the drivers on the road couldn't care less about what car anyone else is driving.

When you encounter guys like this, ignore them or pity them but don't let them get you upset.

Considering that on average most new cars will cost you $20K-$25K now a days, I would hardly call a $32K car expensive.....now $80K on the other hand is expensive.

Who knows why some people do the stuff they do. I figure if he wanted to run a light and risk getting a ticket or in an accident, let him go for it. Especially with a family in the back? Probably nothing you should be worrying yourself about. Some people's kids.......

I find it ridiculous that you let idiots like this bother you. I get "the look" at lights a few times a week - from all sorts of people in all sorts of cars.

The thought of humoring them never crosses my mind. If they give a thumbs up, I do the same - anything else, they're wasting their time.

Gman: I agree but maybe the guy driving the Acura thought he was driving something expensive. Based on the initial post it appears that way, at least to me.

I had an encounter with a dumbass TL A-Spec with Colorado
plates yesterday while I was driving around my cooper-s. frikken
annoyed the hell out of me on my tail so just punched it off the line
to get away from him only to find my modded cooper-s inching away
rather quickly.

he did a ric0r flyby...then at the next light, he stalls... hahaha.
I was saddened by this...I thought by the time those Honda guys
were able to afford TL's, they would be grown up. and that A-Spec
is a bad package....too damn slow for a $40K+ car. ... well, i am
boosting my supercharger pretty high but still.

I usually just laugh at idiots like that. Crap like that always used to happen to me when I was driving my Vette.

Douchbags like this - when they start acting up like that I just look at them and yawn real big and then laugh at them. Let them burn away then. Mostly I get crap like that from Civics with the grapefruit shooter exhaust or Neons!! Rather than bother I just let them know in no uncertain terms that they aren't even worth the effort (yawn) and that they probably have a small weiner (laugh).

It's not the fact of how expensive a car is nor the performance aspects of any particular said car, which makes people behave in irrational terms. Morons can drive anything they wish and are able to afford. You obviously sited a MORON behind the driver's seat, whom just happened to have his/her poor unsuspecting family trapped inside the vehicle.

There appears to be more of these sort of drivers being sited lately. What is even worst, is that that idiot will post somewhere that he/she blew out a G from a standstill from a stop light.

These drivers are among us, everywhere. It could be your elderly school teacher . . . It could be your local government official . . . Your mailman . . . brother, sister, wife, you, ME.

Sad to say . . . But prior to releasing a car, the local auto dealers are not required to check and test for emotional and mental stability.

This same sort of behavior is what lead a young lad to run through a posted STOP sign and T-BONE a car and rolled it over a few times, which both of my parents were in. This same sort of behavior is what lead a young gal to run a red light and cause the demise of my bimmer convertible some short time ago.

There is a post on this forum where someone did 85 in a 45 mph zone near a residential zone. He was stopped and issued a speeding ticket. A few of the forum members are offering advice on how this person may get off due to technicalities . . . WTF?

Upon approaching cars at intersections, I used to ask myself, "Do they see me?' Recently, I now ask myself, " Do they feel lucky?"

Sorry for the ranting. However, I trust every sane and responsible driver will understand. Beware of the idiot drivers out there . . . Good luck!

Good point. The thing is that I usually don't even bother with people and go my way. Just that this moron was way over the top. My intent wasn't on racing him, but to show him and his ghetto *** family that the TL ain't all that. Especially since I see the TL as no more than a slightly better Accord.
